Vanilla Buttercream Recipe

Yield: 18-24 cupcakes
  • 1 cup butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • 3.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp clear vanilla extract
  1. Beat softened butter in large bowl of stand mixer (or mix with hand mixer if stand mixer is not available.)
  2. Sift powdered sugar into bowl and begin mixing on low-medium speed
  3. Add milk and vanilla and mix on medium-high speed for 2-3 minutes until creamy
  4. If too thick, add more milk, about a tsp at a time. If too thin, add more powdered sugar until desired consistency is reached.
