I’m finally getting a chance to sit down and share Hannah’s precious Winnie the Pooh birthday party. She developed a love for Pooh Bear (which I love!!) so we had to go with a Winnie the Pooh birthday party this year.
Last year for her second birthday, she had a sweet little teddy bear picnic and was worried this party would be too similar, but I don’t think it was. I think it was perfectly nostalgic and exactly what she wanted.
I love the vintage Winnie the Pooh characters, so we ordered all of Pooh’s friends from Amazon and set them up all around the party. Hannah loved that all of her friends got to come to her birthday party.
David’s parents live on a beautiful property that has total Hundred Acre Wood vibes and they graciously offered to host her party there this year. We rented a bounce house from Rocket City Balloon Girl and set it up in the woods, along with a picnic table for the kids. We filled gable boxes with treats for the kids to enjoy at the table and had little honey jars for party favors.
On the menu:
- Rabbit’s dirt pudding
- Veggie cups
- Fruit salad
- Beautifully decorated sugar cookies by Pup and People Treats
- Cupcakes (with Vintage Winnie the Pooh toppers and bee candies)
Amazon actually had lots of vintage Winnie the Pooh products that brought the party together beautifully (links below):
- The backdrop behind the food table (surrounded by balloon garland)
- Character cutout signs
- Vintage stuffed animals
- Cupcake toppers
- Plates, napkins and cups
We’re so thankful for everyone who came to celebrate in the Hundred Acre Wood with our Hannah. She had such a great time!
Hannah’s Winnie the Pooh Photoshoot
As a little bonus, I’d like to share these sweet Winnie the Pooh inspired photos that I shot of our little Pooh lover. Let’s face it, professional photoshoots have become way too expensive and we’re basically in a recession and can’t afford it anymore. So I staged a little shoot myself. It helps that Hannah is super photogenic and I can usually get her to smile pretty easily. Sweet girl just popped right down and flashed the biggest cheese. If we’re being honest, it’s likely that if I had paid for professional photos, she would have been a little stinker and wouldn’t have smiled for the photographer and the big camera.
The big girls helped me pack the wagon up with a quilt my grandmother made, all of Hannah’s Pooh friends, some baskets and some flowers, and we walked down the street to the little greenway that was put in about a year ago in our neighborhood. I think they turned out darling. Her dress is from Little Crowns and Capes.
