This is our first Christmas in our new home and I couldn’t have been more excited to decorate this year. With an overall “farmhouse” aesthetic in our home, I felt it only natural to decorate in red, white, and buffalo plaid again this year. This is the first time in several years that I have used the same Christmas color scheme two years in a row, but it looks beautiful in our new home (see our rustic Christmas home tour from last year.)
Farmhouse Christmas Home Tour 2019
I always say that photos can never do a Christmas tree justice, because they are just so much more bright (and 3-dimensional) in person, but I tried to catch the essence of the decor. I have been wanting a flocked Christmas tree for years now, and last year I found on clearance at Walmart for a great price, and I knew I had to snatch it up! Also, how perfect is this window seat that my daddy and I made together?! We finally have a spot to hide our consoles + a little more storage.
I love this corner so much, not only because of the beautiful tree, but also the window seat made by my dad, the wooden snowman that my cousin made for us, and the Christmas quilt made by my Granny. So special!
I found these buffalo check table liners at Hobby Lobby (), and the (half price!) at Target. These Christmas plates (found at Home Goods), simple , , and holly sprigs (Target dollar spot) round out the tablescape perfectly.
I transformed our typical coffee bar spot into a “hot cocoa bar” (most everything found at Hobby Lobby or Michaels).
I had several gingerbread items and wanted to find a spot for them, so I decided to make a little gingerbread village, of sorts, on our china hutch. 🙂
I of course had to find a spot for our nativity scene.
A few other farmhouse Christmas decor items in our front hall and side tables 🙂 I tried to incorporate many of the farmhouse decor items I already had, which turned out super cute and saves money. How cute are these buffalo check poinsettia buckets from Lowes?!
Girly Blue and Pink Christmas Playroom
This year I decided to spruce up the girls’ playroom and break out our blue and pink decor. I kept looking at the blue and pink longingly and wondering if I made the right choice decorating with red, white and buffalo check again. The blue and pink gives me warm-fuzzies and I’m glad that we found a way to incorporate these beautiful colors!!
Back several years ago, my aunt gave me a couple huge boxes full of Disney Christmas ornaments and decor that she had collected over the years, but no longer use. These ornaments are perfect for a girly, blue and pink, princess-y, Disney tree! The girls helped me decorate this tree and I think it turned out perfect.
How do you decorate your home for Christmas each year? Do you decorate with a specific color scheme or theme?
