Who is in disbelief that 2019, let alone this decade, is nearly over?! SO MUCH has happened in the past 10 years and a lot of it feels as if it were yesterday. It’s weird how time works. Realizing that I have been driving with a license for as long as I WASN’T driving with a license (I’m 32), was an odd thought. Time seems to crawl when you’re a kid, and even when you’re a teenager, but when you get into adulthood, and especially when you become a parent, it just seems to fly out the window and there’s no way to ever stop it.
I like to do these type posts at the end of the year to look back and remember the high points, and even the low points of the year. You may (or may not) have noticed that my blog posts were fewer and became more sporadic this year. At the beginning of the year this was intentional. I wanted to unplug to spend more time with family and less time getting the perfect IG photos, or trying to get enough good photos to create a blog post. Then we moved and this took up all our time. Then our schedule changed so much with Raley starting school that it’s been hard to get into a good routine of writing. There are quite a few topics that I didn’t get around to writing about because of time this year. I’m going to try to be more consistent in 2020, but no promises!
Favorite Moments of 2019
Decluttering our home using the KonMari Method
Realizing more than ever that God is in control, and that God is good all. of. the. time.
Raley’s preschool graduation and starting Kindergarten (seriously the toughest summer/fall of my life!)
Meeting our new baby niece, Bailey (the girls are infatuated with her still!)
New York City F•R•I•E•N•D•S trip with my sister
Last, but not least, the holidays are always a favorite time of year, including our first ever Family Grinch Night
A Decade in Review
The big, most memorable events from each year!
2010 – Getting married and graduating college
2011 – Starting my first real nursing job
2012 – Moving back home and adopting Luka
2013 – Raley is born!
2014 – Nothing super big this year, besides having a new, sweet, tiny baby to love on and getting used to this parenting thing
2016 – Audrey is born!
2018 – Going to Disney World!
2019 – Moving to a new house and Raley starting Kindergarten
I’m excited to see what 2020 and the next decade holds. It’s hard to believe that when the upcoming decade is over, I’ll be in my 40’s 😮 My goals for 2020 are to read my Bible more, cut back on social media time, lose some weight, and start waking up early again (for some reason I seem to have more energy when I get up early before the kids). I’ve been slacking big time on all these things, but a new year always brings out some sort of drive to do better, even if it doesn’t last all year.
What are your goals in 2020?
