When we moved into our new house we decided it was time that Audrey get a “big girl bedroom.” She had been sleeping in a toddler bed for a while (her crib converted to a toddler bed) but when we moved we wanted to finally get her into a big bed and redecorate her room. When we asked her how she wanted to decorate her big girl room, she of course replied “flinginos!” It was perfect timing because I was able to find tons of flamingo decor at Hobby Lobby in their Spring Shoppe and in their kids’ decor. I also found a few things at Michaels and JoAnn’s.
I got her at Target and ordered this from JCPenney. The is from JoAnn’s. I actually found the flamingo string lights at Publix. My sister drew the sweet pictures above her bed!
We decided to use her changing table as a dresser for now. We may decide to get an actual dresser at some point, but this is working just fine for the moment!
We also reused a good bit of her decor from her nursery since we used the same basic color scheme – aqua, pink and white. I plan to get one of her photos from our recent flamingo encounter photoshoot printed to put in the white frame.
I think this wall above her dresser is my favorite part of her room. Specifically the ! I like using 3D items to add a bit of dimension to a gallery wall.
I think I bought out the flamingo decor at Hobby Lobby. I’m sure I went a bit overboard, but she loves all her “flinginos!”
from Amazon.
Audrey loves all of her “flinginos” in her bedroom. At what age did you transfer your child to a big kid bed?
