Today I’d like to share my Happy Planner line-up for 2019, as well as why I decided to stick with The Happy Planner again this year! I had planned on posting my spreads from the month of January within this post as well, but I will break it up into two posts because I was afraid it would end up too lengthy.
I have 3 separate planners to start the year – one “catch all” classic size planner, one “on-the-go” mini planner, and one classic size Faith planner. Let’s dive in!
2019 Happy Planner Line-up
I went back and forth about what planners to get for this year. I thought at one point I needed a blogging planner/social media planner, and was using one for a little bit last year, but I found myself neglecting to use it, so I didn’t see the sense in trying to use one as the new year rolled in. I actually found one of the Happy Planner at Hobby Lobby on clearance for $7.50 and bought it with the intention of using it as a blogging planner, but eventually I realized I didn’t think I would get much use out of it, so I ended up giving it to my sister. It’s such a cute little planner, and I’ll miss it’s preppy vibes, but it’s in better hands now.
Every Day Classic Planner
Last year I was using this 18 month classic size planner as my blogging planner, and I still love all the beautiful water colors in it, so I decided to use it as my every day, “catch all” planner in 2019 – no sense in letting this beauty go to waste! I switched out the discs for metal discs so it would be more sturdy and so far I am loving using this planner. It has a vertical layout, which I like, so it’s been fun to decorate this year. This will be my planner that I have fun decorating. My other two planners are more functional and will have minimal stickers (not that this one is not functional, because it is…I just need all of the space in the others for room to write. We’ll get to that in a minute!)
“On-the-go” Mini Planner
I loved the colors and the dividers in the “Super Mom” line, but I didn’t love the layout. All of the Super Mom planners have what they call a “dashboard layout,” which is wonderful for on-the-go, but not as easy to decorate simply because of the way it’s laid out (see photo below). I’ve never used a mini planner, but I decided to get a because it is very functional to use while out and about and small enough to fit easily in my purse. It’s easy to grab and jot down something I need to remember to get at the store or an appointment or bills I need to remember to pay. It doesn’t get decorated much because it’s a mini, which means it’s smaller and I need most of that room to write.
Faith Journal
Back in September I fell in love with the design of the new 2019 “Faith Warrior” planners. The colors and the brush design gave me all the heart eyes (you’re probably sensing a theme here – I’m very much drawn to brush patterns!)
However the layout was very different. They call it a “SOAP” layout (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer) and at first I liked the thought of studying this way, even though I’d never used this method before. I found and snatched it up as soon as I saw it because it’s just so pretty! But the more I got to thinking about it, the more I realized that that method of Bible study wasn’t going to work for me. So I returned the beauty and picked a planner with a horizontal layout. It made me pretty sad to let it go, but the one I ended up getting is working out much better!
*If you’d like to see what I mean by the “SOAP” layout or if you’d like to see the amazing designs that had me googly eyes, you can ! As of now it seems that they’re still available online at Joann’s, if you’re interested in ordering one!
I ended up finding a more general faith planner with a horizontal layout at Michael’s. I prefer a horizontal layout for my faith journal because it’s easier for me to write that way, and it gives more room. I don’t like the design of this one as much as the other, but it does have some pretty colors and floral patterns that I like! I also love the bible verses that it has throughout.
That’s it for my 2019 lineup! Some may think I’m crazy using three separate planners, and it’s true, I’m a bit more obsessed than most. I’ve been using The Happy Planner planners and accessories for a year now. I know there are several types of planners out there, and I’ve tried out different kinds, but something has me stuck to the Happy Planner like a very strong magnet. I very much enjoy using their stickers to decorate my planners, but it’s not just the decorating that makes The Happy Planner my number one choice, (you can decorate any type of planner you want).
So if you’re interested in knowing why The Happy Planner makes me so HAPPY, here are a few reasons:
- The designs – Basically all the planner designs are beautiful! The design team does an amazing job at coming up with a large variety of designs to choose from and I’m usually head-over-heels for more than one.
- The ability remove pages – The disc design makes it so easy to remove and add pages as needed. I dabbled in bullet journaling before switching to an actual planner and there are aspects about “bujo” that I really enjoyed, such as master lists and journaling memories and special moments with my kids that I want to remember. The Happy Planner allows me to add pages in the back and keep lists, take notes, journal, etc. I also pop in extra pages when planning parties so I can keep organized, then when it’s over I can take them out and throw them away. I love the designs, but this is probably the number 1 reason I keep coming back to The Happy Planner.
- The ability to customize – There are so many different ways to use your planner and there are so many different ways to decorate. If you so choose, you can “frankenplan” and combine different planners together to meet your needs.
- Accessories – The amount of accessories and stickers available is unreal! One of my favorite products that I use just about weekly are the . They are so easy to stick in and make a grocery list, a , or a packing list, then take it out when you’re done. They’ve got folders you can add to keep papers in geared toward busy moms to keep your family’s schedule straight. Just about anything you could possibly need for a planner, they’ve thought of it.
I know everyone has different preferences, and I’m not trying to sell or push The Happy Planner in any way, I just love to share what makes me happy. And, as the name implies, The Happy Planner makes me HAPPY!
Do you use a planner? If so, what kind do you prefer?

I feel like I’m always on the hunt for the perfect planner. I started using a paper planner for my blog to help me visualize posts and stuff. But I’m not totally in love with it. I’m trying to make sure that I use it before I go and buy five other planners to find the ONE.

I used several different types of planners before falling in love with the Happy Planner! It didn’t take long for me to be hooked. Everyone has a different preference though and I can understand not wanting to spend a ton of money! I used each of mine for a year even though I didn’t love it because I didn’t want to feel like I’d wasted money. Good luck finding the one!
