Happy Halloween! I hope your weekend was filled with all the fun Halloween activities! I think this year we’ve dressed up more than any other year and I love it. Tonight we’ll be heading out to trick or treat around our neighborhood, which is one of my favorite things to do. This is one of my favorite memories from when I was a kid, so I thoroughly enjoy experiencing it as a parent and enjoying it through our girls’ eyes.
Today is the last Wednesday of the month and I’m linking up with a few other bloggers (Shay, Mel and Shaeffer) for What’s Up Wednesday. This is a fun summary of the past month and a little different take on my typical “Life Lately” posts.
What we’re eating this week…
I’ve actually cooked this week! Monday we had chicken bacon ranch casserole, Tuesday was beef enchiladas, and this afternoon I plan to throw some chicken enchilada soup in the crock pot that we will quickly eat before heading out to trick or treat tonight. I’m not sure about tomorrow yet. Did you know that November 1 is “Men Make Dinner Day”? I may just leave it up to David!
What I’m reminiscing about…
Last October we were on a cruise in the Western Caribbean with David’s family. I’m dreaming of the beautiful ocean and the break from reality. One of my favorite parts about cruises is that you don’t have wifi as readily available (unless you pay for it), so you’re able to just put the phones away, relax, and enjoy time together. The funny thing was, I didn’t miss it. It’s so hard to disconnect yourself from your phone when you’re in the real world, but when you’re forced to on vacation, it’s SO NICE! I’d like to go on another cruise mainly for this reason.
What I’m loving…
This fall weather is ahhh!!! I’m also loving Audrey’s little mummy outfit in the photo below. So cute!
What we’ve been up to…
Mostly Halloween festivities! I’ll dive into more of that in Friday’s post. Also, this week is Parents’ Week at dance, which means we get to sit in on the girls’ dance classes. Raley’s was yesterday and she did so good! She’s starting to dance like a big girl. She’s come such a long way in the past few years. She used to be so shy and didn’t want to dance in front of us, but now she’s so confident and proud to show us what she’s learned. Audrey’s parents’ day is today and I’m excited to watch her too! This is her first year dancing and she is all in! She’s the opposite of Raley her first year. It’s so funny to see how different their personalities are.
What I’m dreading…
I honestly can’t think of anything!
What I’m working on…
I’m enjoying working on these Small Business Small Talk posts! It’s fun to meet local business owners and to hear their stories.
What I’m excited about…
We go to DISNEY WORLD in less than 4 weeks!! This trip has been in the works for quite some time and it’s almost here!
I’m also excited to start my November Prayer Challenge tomorrow. Are you joining in?
What I’m watching…
Fall shows are back! I’m currently watching Big Bang Theory, Dancing With The Stars (regular and Juniors), Criminal Minds, Manifest, You (so creepy!!), and American Horror Story. There are others like How To Get Away With Murder and Modern Family recorded that we haven’t got around to catching up on yet. We’re also watching The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix, which is good and so creepy!
What I’m wearing…
I’ve been wearing the heck out of the items from my last Stitch Fix box. If you read my last review, I mentioned how I wasn’t sure about the sweater, but I kept it anyway. Well I’ve probably worn it more than any of the other pieces! So glad I kept it.
What I’m doing this weekend…
We’re going to Under the Christmas Tree at the VBC Saturday morning, then watching Alabama play LSU Saturday night!
What I’m looking forward to next month…
DISNEY WORLD!!!!! We are all just beside ourselves with excitement. Well, me and the girls are. David, not so much. I mean, he is excited, but he’s not as stoked as we are.
Bonus: What’s your favorite Halloween Costume?
I think my favorite was last year when we all dressed up like characters from Alice in Wonderland. Mostly because the girls were so adorable in their costumes. Raley’s Alice dress was dreamy and my grandmother made Audrey’s white rabbit costume, which made it extra special.
That’s all I’ve got for today’s What’s Up Wednesday! I hope you have a blast this Halloween!
