My friend Erica RAVES about Stitch Fix and I have been reading her reviews for a while now and always love the things her stylist sends her. I have thought and thought about signing up in the past, but have always hesitated because it wasn’t something I needed to spend money on. This past weekend, I found myself hopping in and out of just about every store (and every fitting room) at Bridge Street trying to find the perfect pair of white jeans and ultimately failing. I left there feeling discouraged, because a good pair of white jeans is something I’ve been wanting for a while, but haven’t been able to find. I had heard from numerous people that Stitch Fix does a great job with sending you clothes (especially pants) that fit just right, so I figured now is the right time to give it a try!
And here we are! A week later and my first Stitch Fix review is in the books. If you follow my Instagram stories, you got a sneak peek as I opened my box on Saturday. The pieces I was most excited about as I opened them were the white pants, the cold shoulder top, and the striped tank. Keep reading to see what I decided to keep and what I decided to send back!
My First Stitch Fix Review
Item #1: Market & Spruce Tarza V-Neck Knit Top
Item #2: Just Black Nysa Skinny Jeans
I was very specific about ALL of this + what I was looking for in my profile so my stylist would have the best chance of sending me something that fit and she did! They fit perfectly in the waste, they’re just the right length, and although they are a tad tight right now, they are stretchy so I know with wear they will be fine (they’re not so tight that they’re uncomfortable + I’m hoping to lose a few pounds in the near future). I also love that they are a thicker material, so I know they’re good quality. These are definitely keepers and will get lots of wear this summer and fall!
Item #3: Papermoon Egan One Pocket Knit Top
Item #4: Market & Spruce Britta T-shirt Dress
I will admit, if I saw this dress in the store, I may not have even picked it up to try it on due to the price tag. At $64, this is a bit more than I would typically pay for a t-shirt dress, but I am absolutely in love and couldn’t wait to wear it. (I actually wore it to church yesterday, and then kept it on for the rest of the day to go shopping with my in-laws!) Although it’s more than I would typically pay, it’s safe to say that I will get a ton of wear out of it so I think it will be money well spent in the long run.
Item #5: Papermoon Dani Cold Shoulder Knit Top
I was very much on the fence about this one, because while I do like certain things about it, it didn’t give me an overwhelming I have to keep this feeling, like the t-shirt dress did. I ultimately decided to send it back and here’s why (bear with me on this) – if I had kept this piece, the dress, and the white jeans, it would have only been $16 less than if I were to keep the entire box (because you get 25% off when you keep all 5 items). I felt like if I was going to get these 3 items, then I needed to keep the rest of it to make it worth the money, however the other two pieces I really didn’t love. Plus, I have several tops that are similar in shape and material to this one, so I didn’t feel like this was a “gotta have it” item. Whew. I hope that made sense.
Breakdown
What did I think about my first Stitch Fix box?
I wish this is something I could do each month, but right not it’s just not. For now I will schedule my fixes for every 3 months, which means my next one will come in September, just in time for fall! I will add, every one of these items were right in my color wheel, which I loved, but some just didn’t work due to reasons listed above. I’m excited to see what my stylist sends next time around!
